This really should be an "and" question instead of "or". The second part assumes that one won't agree with his policies anyway if more taxes will be paid. Personally, I agree with his policies in principle. As for tax increases, money has to come from somewhere. You can cut spending where it is not needed. Or you can ask the people to contribute more to their country through taxes. Now, if my tax dollars are used to fix our social ills, I won't mind making that contribution. The political divide comes from where spending should be reallocated (conservatives stereotypically from social programs, while liberals from defense/security and corporate tax breaks), and also if one puts more emphasis on "United" or "States". Althought this is never a simple issue and I could go on and on, if the world was safer and Americans were more communalist instead of individualist (United vs. States), then we wouldn't mind contributing a few extra tax bucks just to improve our country. I personally believe that we should be more "United" than just "States". After all, the Constitution wanted us to form a more perfect Union.

Do you agree with them or do you think we will be paying for them later with our tax dollars?
